My role is mainly dependent on, well, pretty much everything.  I was in the media field as a graphic designer and over the years, progressed into roles as an Art Director, Creative Director.  All of this happened during the .com crash.  Was a hard time but when others were being laid off, I made myself a valuable assest by cross training and expanding my abilities.  So here today.  I wear many hats!
