This is My Life – Patricia Locks Krenek

I have lived in Central Texas for most of my life. As a long-time educator, I taught Middle-School English and Career Investigation, served as Career Counselor in Brownwood ISD, and trained Texas educators to infuse vocational education with regular academic courses. For 3 years, I served the Duncanville ISD as Guidance Counselor in both 9th Grade Center and Middle School before coming to TSTC in Brownwood where I served as Career Counselor. After retiring from TSTC, I served the Central Texas communities as Director of Continuing Education where I offered many courses in a variety of topics for CEU’s (Continuing Education Units), wrote Texas Career Education curriculum for Texas Workforce Commission, and taught a year of dual-credit English to senior students.

Each of these positions provided excitement, challenge and success in its own way as each area and stage in my life opened the door to my next position. Although my career has been a big part of my life, and I enjoyed being totally immersed it, I didn’t totally envelope my ever-waking moment in it. I had a wonderful, Christian Mother, Daddy, and sister as well as other family members and friends who strongly influenced my life and I have always been active in church, church choir and Bible study.

After attending Baylor University and Howard Payne University, I continued my education at Tarleton University (as I continued teaching) where I received my Vocational Counselor Certificate and Master’s Degree. I was married and had a terrific son, who continues to give me great joy in each stage of his life. He is currently married, has two girls, and teaches high school English as well as teaching rock climbing in Colorado. I am currently enjoying married life with Patrick, the man who God brought into my life in 2010. He has a daughter, who teaches school in NM, a son, who is a business man, and a daughter-in-law who have 2 girls. We enjoy both outdoors and indoors, working, traveling, and playing together. I am even learning to play golf.

I have always been active in my church and church choir and community activities that continue to give me stability and a strong foundation of values and integrity. I have been a member of the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce, Brown County Youth Fair Association, United Way, and The ARK Board of Directors.

I have a passion for teaching and learning—especially learning and teaching about the value of staying healthy and learning more about how to interact and enjoy being with people as I continue to learn how to better serve Our Lord.

  • We work and play hard
  • My favorite perk to my job, if I need a break i go down to the dock and get on a jet ski for a bit.
  • We are bringing back the fun jobs and perks!
